On Wednesday, 3 July, RPCS came together to celebrate Harmony Day—a joyful occasion that reflects the beauty of God’s creation through the many cultures represented in our school. As a Christ-centred community, we believe every person is made in the image of God, and this special day gave us the opportunity to honour the diversity, unity, and shared identity we have as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Students were invited to wear traditional cultural clothing or the colours of their nation’s flag, bringing colour and meaning to our school grounds. A gold coin donation supported future initiatives that continue to build understanding and connection across cultures. The canteen also offered special lunch orders, giving students a delicious opportunity to experience flavours from around the world—a reminder that food, like fellowship, can bring us closer together.
A highlight of the day was the Harmony Day Concert, where our Secondary students shared cultural performances that celebrated their heritage and expressed God-given gifts through dance, music, and storytelling. As space on campus was limited, families were able to join us via livestream, turning the celebration into a wider community event.
Throughout the day, Secondary students also participated in engaging cultural workshops—experiencing everything from Japanese origami and Vietnamese cooking to South Korean game shows and traditional dances like Dabke and Maululu. Films from Uganda, India, and Korea were shown, while students explored the meaning of cultural symbols, national flags, and the shared stories that make up God’s world.
Harmony Day at RPCS was more than a celebration—it was a reminder of the unity we share in Christ. As the Apostle Paul writes in Galatians 3:28, “…for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” We are thankful to our students, staff, and families for helping us live out this truth with grace, joy, and love.
