Why Regents Park Christian School?
Regents Park Christian School provides excellence in education that is centred in Christ. RPCS is dedicated to offering opportunities for our students to flourish in their God-given gifts and talents.
The vision of our K-12 school is to support Christian families in educating their children from Christian perspective. Regents Park Christian School (RPCS) opened in 1976 in the geographic centre of Sydney and is a ministry of Heartbeat Church Regents Park. Our strongest asset is the quality and diversity of the student body. Their commitment to reflect the vision, values and ethos of the school remain our greatest testimony to the community.
RPCS has established a high profile in the local community and the Christian School movement in Australia. The school is founded on a model of pastoral care, sense of community, service, spiritual growth, the development and use of diverse gifts and non-selective academic excellence. RPCS seeks to develop strong, positive Christian citizens with a deep sense of calling, compassion and desire to stand against injustice.
Regents Park Station is an important transport point where the Bankstown line and the Liverpool line intersect and connect to the Western line. RPCS serves a diverse multidenominational community. It attracts students from as far west as the Blue Mountains, the Shire in the south, the City of Sydney in the east and the Eastwood district in the north.
The school is well known for its academic achievements, sporting representation to national and international level and its creative arts curriculum. It is also well known for its programs in student leadership and spiritual growth and development. It has a strong camps, ministry and service program that involves local, interstate and international communities.
Our Christian Schooling
Our relationship with God forms and informs the way in which we view life and the world. Christian schooling seeks to involve students and families in education based on spiritual beliefs through biblical teaching. Our school vision statement and motto focus on growing, empowering and changing lives to equip them for service. We also seek to help them develop an eternal kingdom perspective where our decisions and choices impact the present and the future.
Christian schooling should be a community of grace, love, humility and strong relationships. We view each young person as being a person first, a student second and a NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) candidate third.
Each person is valued in God’s kingdom and needs to be treated with dignity and respect. Teachers and parents have the responsibility to lead and model servant leadership. Parents have been given responsibility before God to raise their children, and teachers are given the same level of responsibility within the school community.
Schools are places where rules, regulations, laws and standards walk alongside relationships, exploration, risk taking and personal and community development. A Christian school is a place where academic achievement, spiritual development, creative and physical development all comprise integrated learning.
