Over this year Food Technology students in Year 10 have studied a variety of different elements of food. One highlight was when the students looked at food product development and examined what makes a good airline meal. Interestingly, they discovered that every student in the class had already flown in a plane and many more than once. Which means they had all experienced the food that is served on a plane.
They were able to discuss the highs and lows of preparing and eating food in the sky and the mammoth organisational undertaking involved in feeding thousands of passengers each day whilst meeting all their individual needs. What better way to explore a good airline meal than to make one yourself.
‘Happy travels’ to anyone flying away these holidays.
