On the 7 March we had the privilege to attend The Young Women’s Leadership Seminar at Parliament House. Without the supervision of a teacher, we were able to safely arrive on time. During the seminar we were able to listen and learn from different women; from influential speakers to parliamentary representatives. We were also given a little tour inside the lower and upper ho
uses as well as the history of the roles of women in the Parliament House.
The main message that we were able to take out from the day was: “Don’t worry about what other people think about you and also have a balance between work and a good social life”. – Jessie Kim.
“I personally thought that it was so valuable to discuss about having confidence and standing up, especially as a leader and what it means to be a leader.” – Sophia Lee.
“We see this as another way to build and grow as prefects and encourage other girls to be leaders. We would like to thank the school for giving us this opportunity.” – Jessie and Sophia.
Overall it was a rewarding day where we both were able to learn, reflect and grow in our leadership skills.
Thank You.
