Have you ever considered Extention 2 English for one of your HSC subjects? Jeremy, Keely and Gabby are three of our talented year 12 writers who recently submitted their HSC English major works. Believe it or not they are also sitting their final exams.
These 3 students worked on short stories and performance poetry for their major works this year. The original works consisted of 6000 word compositions as well as the required 1500 word reflection statements. The final products were the culmination of significant research along with drafting, recording, editing and rewriting. These students will receive their results for the major works later this year, along with their other HSC results.
Each student has also walked away with a greater sense of achievement by completing this course. ‘I learnt that when writing giant texts, one inevitably faces the problem of writer’s block’ said Jeremy. But they were also able to overcome such hurdles. ‘ I could create something meaningful and academic without needing a degree in literature’. stated Gabby
We are really proud of our hardworking Extension 2 students – congratulations!
Final words from Keely. ‘If you are thinking of doing this course, even if you are a little bit interested, go for it! You don’t need to be an amazing writer or anything. This course helps you grow as a writer, and as a person. All you need is a passion. Remember, you don’t have to write a story, or novel, there are a lot of different things you can do.’
