The CSSA South Metro Zone Touch Football Gala Day was unfortunately washed out in term 1 due to the persistent wet weather.
In lieu of this day, a CSSA South Metro Touch Football Trial was held, seeing 5 students from Regents Park Christian School selected into the Zone teams to play in the CSSA State Touch Football Gala Day in Port Macquarie in the first week of Term 2.
These were:
Nicohlas – Open Boys
Joshua – Open Boys
Ronnie – Junior Boys
Lachlan – Junior Boys (injured for the State Gala Day)
Nancy – Open Girls
These students represented the school fantastically over two days in Port Macquarie. Joining with students from other school in our Zone to compete against teams from across NSW. Unfortunately, no South Metro teams were able to win against their competitions on the day, but all were successful in earning a number of positions on the CSSA State team, including our own Nicohlas, to play in the CIS Touch Football Championship on the 30th of September in Penrith.
At the CIS Touch Football Championships – Nicholas’s open boys team performed above expectations, finishing second in a close fought final. Despite not winning the day, Nicholas stood out for his team, and was again successful in being selected as a link for the CIS Touch Football team. He will now prepare to represent CIS at the National Youth Championships in Caloundra from the 12th to the 16th of September. Well done Nico!
