On Tuesday Mrs Goodall and Miss Hughes took the year 11 and 12 Visual Arts students to the Art Gallery of NSW to see the Art Express exhibition. Art Express is an annual exhibition that showcases the top artworks from the HSC Visual Arts course. The students listened to talks by the curator and four students who have their work included in this year’s exhibition. The valuable experience allowed the students to hear and see first-hand the struggles and triumphs of the young artists just like themselves who have had to persevere and work determinedly to create a successful Body of Work. After viewing the exhibition and enjoying lunch in the Domain gardens the teachers led the students in a drawing exercise in Hyde Park. It was a fantastic and inspiring day that the students will reflect on for many months to come.
