Diverse Learning
At Regents Park Christian School, student diversity is a priority. We seek to continually grow in our level of support, investing resources and evidence-led practices for students in the areas of English as a second language/dialect (EAL/D), learning disabilities, and gifted and talented education. This priority encompasses 21st century teaching and learning practices within a quality Christian environment.
As the world seeks to find a sense of hope and meaning, Regents Park Christian School fosters a place of belonging. Students should not compromise their individuality to fit in. Rather, at RPCS their needs and strengths are fostered and celebrated through:
- Our academic programs, such as GATEway (Gifted and Talented Education), accelerated programs and cocurricular programs for gifted and talented students; and,
- Our support programs, such as MACQlit, individual planning, adjusted programs and remediation for our EAL/D students and students with disability.
Regents Park Christian School is not a ‘one size fits all‘ education setting. Rather, the school seeks to work collaboratively with families, staff and students to address the wide range of unique student needs at an individual level. This means that we are open to supporting students through processes such as acceleration, HSC Pathways and many other evidence-led practices that meet the individual student at the place where they are ready to learn.
2nd Corinthians 8:7 declares ‘But as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, and in all eagerness and in the love from us that is in you – make sure that you excel in this act of kindness too’. The investment of resources in student diversity is what we are doing to ensure that students experience excellence in an environment in which they can belong, grow, and flourish.
